It’s anatomically true that the heart is probably the most important muscle. Without it, no blood would be transported throughout the rest of our bodies and thus many things would cease functioning and death would result.
But why do you think the heart is the most important muscle? Either anatomically/physically or emotionally??
Why do you think the anatomical heart has been linked to the feelings of love, compassion & commitment?

Because it IS most important, so people like to compare things with it to show an amount.
I love you with my all my heart. Heart = important = lots of love.
I love you with all my appendix. appendix= not important= dont love you that much.
And sometimes it seems like you can feel it, like butterflies, or when you do something bad and if feels like it's in your stomach.
Physically because of the obvious reason.
